Describe a hobby that you enjoy doing.
You should say:
- what the hobby is
- how you got interested in it
- what you do when you engage in this hobby
and explain why you enjoy doing this hobby and how it benefits you.
Sample Answer:
One hobby that I really enjoy doing is playing the guitar. I got interested in it when I was a teenager and a friend showed me some basic chords. Since then, I’ve been playing on and off for many years. When I engage in this hobby, I usually play along to my favourite songs or try to learn new ones. I also like to experiment with different guitar sounds and techniques. I find playing the guitar to be very relaxing and it’s a great way to unwind after a stressful day. Additionally, it’s a creative outlet for me and allows me to express myself in a way that I can’t with words. Overall, I think playing the guitar is a wonderful hobby to have as it’s both enjoyable and beneficial for my mental health.
Describe a leisure activity that is popular in your country.
You should say:
- what the leisure activity is
- how it is done
- why it is popular in your country
and explain why you think this activity is a good way to spend leisure time.
Sample Answer:
Cooking is a leisure activity that is very popular in my country. People enjoy cooking different types of dishes, including traditional ones as well as international cuisines. To cook, you need to select the right ingredients, prepare them, and then follow the recipe to cook the dish. Cooking is popular in my country because it allows people to express their creativity in the kitchen and enjoy delicious food with their loved ones. I think cooking is a great way to spend leisure time because it not only helps to relax but also provides an opportunity to learn new skills and try different flavours.
